Service of a Liferaft

It is important that liferafts be regularly inspected and serviced at a facility qualified and approved by the liferaft manufacturer.
A liferaft station which is approved to service the liferafts of any one manufacturer is not automatically approved to service all types of liferafts.
Each manufacturer's design is unique, and there will be important differences between them.

A liferaft manufacturer's certificate of approval is issued only to service technicians who have successfully completed a course
of practical factory and classroom training. These approvals are limited in duration and conditional on
attending regular refresher courses at the manufacturer's factory.
